Ways Poland Spring Academy Is Unique

First - we test for learning style in order to maximize learning advantages.

Every student has strengths in one or more learning style areas. By presenting information to a student in a learning style that is most suited, he is able to more easily and completely grasp a concept in any subject.

Second - we test academic ability to determine in which skill areas the student has a good foundation of understanding.

We have found that many students who have been unable to perform at a high school level have actually never grasped some basic concepts from much earlier in their school years. It is necessary, with these students, to bring them back to the basics and rebuild some of that education structure to “fill in the gaps”.

Third - we set up an academic program that works specifically for them.

A student may enter our school with a 3rd grade reading level, a 5th grade math level, and a 7th grade level in English and vocabulary. Instead of being placed in one grade for all of her studies, her individual program allows her to start right from her ability level in each subject and progress from there. Add to that presentation in the appropriate learning style for that student, and you have an ideal learning environment.

Fourth - we get to know each student on a personal level.

Our school is like a big family. We teach acceptance, tolerance, self worth, love and basic moral values and principles.

School Size

Our goal is to keep the ratio of students-to-teachers here low, even with our plans to expand the campus by adding new buildings. We intend to keep the school small and personal. We have an extremely low absentee rate, which speaks highly of the atmosphere here. A low student-to-teacher ratio and working closely with the parents and students keeps everyone involved in the education process.

The one thing I like about this school is there is no homework, oh, and we go four days a week.
