Wilderness Camp
Poland Spring Academy Wilderness Experience 2010
Have your child join us on a series of woodland adventures where we will explore and learn about every aspect of nature that we encounter!
While this is intended for students ages 7-12, adult hikes will be available based on interest levels. Please let us know if you are interested!
We will cover numerous topics during our Summer Wilderness Program which will be led by Ben Nugent, a local wildlife biologist and teacher at PSA.
From Ben: Wildlife Adventures will be held from 9am to 2pm on the scheduled days. Due to weather or other reasons, dates could change during the summer. We may also spontaneously change the subject matter or locations, if wildlife opportunities arise elsewhere. Special trips will be announced as summer progresses, which may last all day (for example, a hike in the White Mountain National Forest).
Learning opportunites are spontaneous out in nature. I have scheduled specific topics for the children to learn about each day, however, we will stop and learn about anything I or the students happen to see along our adventure. I am only listing out the major topic for each day, but the students will be learning about all aspects of nature every time we are out on an adventure.
